| Gunfire in Ensley leaves 1 dead, 1 detained; investigation ongoing Gunfire erupted in Ensley Saturday evening, leaving one person dead and a person of interest detained. The shooting happened about 6 p.m. at 2000 28th Street Ensley, said Birmingham police Sgt. Bryan Shelton. The victim was taken to UAB Hospital, and pronounced dead there a short time later.
